Passionate about making coaching Accessible
Roel’s coaching style is rooted in the Positive Psychology which aims to support clients in increasing their sense of purpose and well-being, finding and applying their strengths and building on what is working well rather than dwelling on problems or deficits. It is intended to cultivate a hopeful and positive outlook where negative experiences can be seen in a positive light of opportunities and gifts.
Convinced of the positive impact of coaching for everyone, and aware that for financial or other reasons people think that access to business and life coaching as not for them, WJP aims to lower perceived barriers and make coaching accessible for everyone. In doing so, they want to give something back to Society, and help the next generation to soar, thrive and flourish whatever their background, their culture and wherever they are in the world. See below on “Our pay-back to Society” and the section on the Fees page.)
Career
With his wife Eileen Jameson, Roel moved to live in the Republic of Ireland following 26 years working for the United Nations and its agency for health, the World Health Organization (WHO), in senior management positions in various corners of the world. Prior to this, Roel, a Dutch national, was working for the Dutch government. Roel holds a Masters degree in Management and Leadership. He is a certified coach with the EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) and was trained by Erickson Coaching International. He is also a mediator, and a mentor in international organisations.
Roel speaks multiple languages, is totally fluent in English, Dutch and French, and has intermediate Spanish and some German.
His career as Senior Manager in WHO mainly focussed on managing operational services, operational planning, administration, HR management, finance and KPI reporting, and later on informally coaching and facilitating senior management. Much of his focus of the management role over the past two decades has been on restructuring and defining new and more effective strategies and structures.
Over his long career it became evident to him that many everyday negative aspects of conflicts are reduced when individuals feel appreciated and healthy, and are enabled to use their potential to add value for themselves, their team and their environment. Similarly, in a business context, that the daily challenge of management is facilitated though recognition and use of team members’ strengths, cultural potential and nurturing of emotional intelligence as well as leveraging the positive aspects of team conflict. Roel brings this experience and awareness into his coaching and shares it where appropriate in any mentoring.

At WJP Accessible Coaching, our aim is to make coaching accessible to more people, to give something back to Society, and to help the next generation to soar, thrive and flourish whatever their background, their culture and wherever they are in the world.
We are convinced of the positive impact of coaching for everyone, and are aware that many people think that only other people can have access to business and life coaching, for financial or other reasons. We aim to lower perceived barriers to coaching and make coaching accessible for everyone. See the section on Accessible Coaching on our Fees page.
On the other hand, when you partner with WJP Accessible Coaching on a fee paying basis, you double the value of your investment: the investment in yourself and the investment in those who cannot afford the cost of coaching. We use your fees to allow us to make coaching accessible to those with modest resources. We work on a reduced fee or pro-bono basis with those who cannot afford our normal fees, and with charities to provide them the support to deliver on their mandate, helping to grow a world of wellbeing where full potential is realised.
If you are seeking solutions or wanting a change, or simply wondering where to start or continue your journey – take the first step to your own future.
We will meet you at your office, in our office, or virtually through Zoom or other video conferencing software. Contact us. We are here to listen.
“Roel is a great coach. He is calm and is a brilliant listener. He asks challenging questions in a very gentle and inviting way – but questions that nevertheless caused me to think about things differently and also made me want to take action.
“The session felt very natural and comfortable and created an environment in which I felt it easier to reflect and talk about aspects of my professional practice which I would not normally discuss.”
“Roel is a very professional, open and encouraging Coach. He wants the best for you as his client and partners with you on the journey of development.”
“My level of self-awareness has increased exponentially in matter of days after this session”
“I felt at ease and despite the somewhat artificial setting, we had a great discussion and I did solve part of a problem that I didn’t even know I had !”
