What is Coaching?
“Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential” (ICF) to discover all possibilities in order to achieve goals. “It is not about fixing a problem, but it is about maximizing human potential” (Coaching Indonesia).
A life coach empowers coachees or clients to find their own answers, encourages, and supports them throughout the journey as they continue to make important decisions or choices (Whitworth, 2007).
Coaching also provides chances for coachees to explore their strengths, opportunities and challenges.

How coaching works
Get to know you and your coach session
This session aims at building chemistry and trust to establish a safe and supportive environment. A client and a coach will have a chat to get to know each other and create a deeper bond so that the client feels free to explore his or her potential.
Coaching Plans
Once a coaching agreement is established, a coach will help a coachee identify the focus areas – e.g. leadership, personal growth, career or life in general. After that, a coaching plan is created to ensure measurable outcomes in order to help the coachee move forward and achieve goals.
Coaching Sessions
The number and duration of the coaching sessions will vary depending on the client’s preferences and needs. Ideally, one coaching package is four sessions and each session can be around 30 to 90 minutes. It usually takes a one-or-two-week time window from one session to another. Coaching is confidential and an agreement needs to be signed before beginning a coaching session or before a plan is created.
