As a professional coach that trained in transformational coaching (an approach to coaching that explores a client’s inner world of thoughts, beliefs, values, and expectations to create more significant opportunities for change and help the client monitor progress against goals that were defined in the coaching process.), I support clients embracing the process of clarity and change by partnering with them through the creative process of thought-provoking questions. I also provide a safe space to challenge one’s assumptions while helping develop confidence.
I support you in realizing that you are the expert in your life and come alongside you as a thinking partner to provide the support you need to execute the blueprint of your life goals. You have the solutions to your challenges/problems. As we partner, my approach will involve a blend of goal-solution-valued focused coaching. My role is to be a catalyst to light that spark in your life journey by equipping you with a roadmap and framework of support, encouragement, and accountability.
Reflection: While living in Japan, I lived in an apartment complex named Sakura Tower. I later discovered that the word Sakura was the Japanese name for the cherry blossom tree, which is near and dear to Japanese culture. It represents a more profound meaning that “symbolizes the spring, the exquisiteness of nature, and the transient essence of life.” Sakura also symbolizes renewal because, every year, it marks the end of winter while ushering in the new season of spring.
The sacredness of how the Japanese celebrate the cherry blossom is irresistible. They know they have a short window to relish the blossoms because they stay bloomed for a maximum of 2-3 weeks. They make the most out of the “Sakura Season.”
The lessons I learned from observing the Sakura festivities are simple:
1.) Bloom when your season comes along-you only have a little time to capture opportunities.
2.) Be Expectant. The dark seasons in our lives do not hold us captive. We know spring (a symbol of new beginnings) is bound to come along.
3.) Take the time to celebrate life and live in the moment. “Smell the roses.”
I hope this reflection inspires you to take charge of your life and go after your dreams!
