Norman-Yoruba, my cultural duality is the foundation of my personality. On the one hand, people call me Tokunbo, “imported” from across the seas, born on another continent; on the other, they ask me where I come from. This questioning of my place in the world has shaped my path.

An expertise in project management…

For two decades, I worked in the cosmetics industry, evolving within multinationals. I acquired invaluable skills in a wide variety of positions: product manager-buyer, purchasing-development-marketing manager… These experiences enabled me to develop in-depth expertise in project management. My strength lay in my ability to understand stakeholders’ constraints, to co-construct appropriate solutions, and to anticipate potential obstacles with pragmatic solutions. I learned to define clear objectives and adjust the roadmap when necessary, while staying on course for those objectives.

I enjoyed helping to make real product ideas, concepts that brought beauty into the world. I met inspiring personalities and discovered several countries. However, despite these successes, I didn’t feel entirely at home. I didn’t feel at home in the world I was evolving in, even if I had wanted to. And I had the feeling that I was missing out on something, that I “could do more”.

…serving my mission

Naturally very introspective, I regularly question my career path. On paper, everything looks great: recognized companies, good salary, team manager… I’d ticked the boxes of a certain idea of success, a success I’d aspired to since the low-income housing projects of my childhood. But does that make me feel good? No. I second-guess myself, feel guilty about not being satisfied, and go on about it with my family and friends. I’m paralyzed by the fear of losing a certain security, and I wonder if I have the right to complain when I’m one of the privileged few.

However, more and more, I feel that it’s precisely because I’m in a favorable situation that I owe it to myself to do everything I can to get the life I want. But I find myself putting this off, torn between my current relative comfort and the quest for true personal fulfillment.

It took the loss of a loved one and a health crisis to bring me face to face with the urgency of living life to the full.

Professionally, these ordeals gave me the strength and audacity to say no to a reorganization that would have kept me in a secure position, but one in which I wasn’t feeling fulfilled.

This is the beginning of redefining success on my own terms. I gave myself permission to explore all my options and to fight for a new dream. I combined my taste for introspection and my project management methodology, and applied them to my personal life.

I was able to define my new goals, assess the risks, identify the necessary resources (such as calling on the support of coaches, or reviewing my budget…) and adjust my plan to achieve satisfactory personal and professional fulfillment.

I trained myself in coaching and self-awareness tools, which today enable me to carry out my mission: to help other women develop their self-confidence, to (re)define and realize their life projects. To enable them to move forward more quickly, without waiting for external circumstances to force them to do so, or to bounce back positively from those circumstances.

I believe that everyone can realize their potential in their own way, based on the cards they hold. My aim is to help you make the most of those cards, without letting limiting beliefs get in the way. I encourage the exploration of possibilities and the realization of the best option for each individual.

For me, it meant a career change. For you, it could mean a new employer, a different role in your company, a side project or a change of perspective on your situation…

Why Eemi?

In  the Yoruba language, “Eemi” means both “me” and “soul”/“spirit” (depending on whether you pronounce it [émi] or [èmi]). The name symbolizes inner harmony and personal authenticity. It also represents self-affirmation: Eemi, Me. Uncompromising, unapologetic. Unapologetically Me.
