My story

Growing up as a middle class kid in a rural part of Southern France with 3 siblings in a family with only one (very variable) income, I equated money with scarcity and mystery.

Fortunately, my parents recognized the value of education (wanting more for their children than the elementary education they received themselves) and motivated us to work hard in school.

I decided to study finance to understand what this money thing was all about.

After 3 degrees and a career in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources and Payroll, I figured out 3 key money truths:

1- The concepts of money and personal finance are pretty simple.

2- Our biggest block to money is ourselves, in particular our money mindset (fear of dealing with it, thinking we are bad at it or that we do not deserve it).

3-Being financially healthy means using money as a tool to achieve our goals and being confident enough to hire the right people who get to be on our “money team”.

Embracing these money truths enabled me to become financially free.

Around the same time I discovered coaching and realized that financial coaching is the quickest way to change mindsets as it helps the client explore their feelings and thoughts, with curiosity and no judgement.

At that point the obstacles to financial health become clear to the client, and the coach is there as the best friend of their best self, reminding them of their goal, while holding them accountable to achieve what they truly want, and cheering them on as they get there.

Coaching helped me decide when it was time to become a money confidence coach and leave my 25 year corporate career behind.

I am so glad I did and so are my clients.

I also realize there there is a big need for financial literacy (explaining money concepts in simple terms), so I became a volunteer with CPA Canada to provide financial literacy to schools and other organizations.

My other passions are my husband of 30+ years, my 2 sons and their wives, my extended family, travelling, meeting new people, discovering and savouring delicious food.
