Coaching is a partnership between the coach and the client, who engage in a “thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the coachee to maximize their personal and professional potential”
Unlike other types of services, coaching does not provide pre-determined solutions, nor advices the client on what decision to make. Coaching requires the co-responsibility of the process, engaging both parties in a 50/50, equal partnership. The coachee defines the objectives while the coach ensures the identified steps will take the coachee towards those goals.
Through the coaching experience, the coachee is able to unlock their full potential, by becoming aware of blocks, resources, and unexplored perspectives. It also taps into the authentic self of the coachee, motivation and leadership.
What will you find if you embark in a coaching experience:
- A safe, non-judgemental and confidential space
- A solid support for clarifying your goals
- A development and performance enhancement framework and guidance
- Opportunities to become aware of your potential, unlock it and become the best version of yourself
What will you be asked to bring:
- Motivation: It’s all about you : if you are not engaged, coaching will not achieve the expected results. Remember: it’s a 50/50 responsibility!
- Willing to engage in a transformational process: It might become uncomfortable at times, so it’s key that you are committed to explore new perspectives
- Consistency: keeping a regular schedule and following up with the actions defined during the sessions is crucial for a constant and steady advancement.
What you will not find:
- Consulting or mentoring. These types of working relationships are asymmetric by definition: there is a client asking for advice and an expert providing a solution. In coaching, the coachee is the expert and the coach facilitates the identification of the best solution through creating a safe space for exploration, keep the coachee on track and prompts them to dig deeper.
