When we celebrate, we release dopamine, and when we smile or laugh, endorphins are triggered. Serotonin is released when we share our celebrations with others. Together, these three neurotransmitters help strengthen social connections and contribute to our overall happiness.

But when grief comes knocking, it is just as important to allow ourselves the time and space to mourn. In my case, victory and grief arrived on the same day. While I was aware of my achievement, I felt neither joy nor the need to celebrate. I shared the news with my closest circle, then tucked my “victory” away for another time and gave myself the space to sit with my grief and the lessons it brought.

Grief is a powerful force that spares no one. It is painful, unfair, and deeply distressing, yet it also brings beautiful reflections of past memories, cherished moments with loved ones we now miss so dearly, and newfound appreciation for the impact they had on our lives. Through grief, we come to realize just how much they shaped us, taught us, and continue to influence us. Taking the time to grieve is not just important—it is invaluable.

I am still grieving, but I now find myself better able to hold both emotions at once—grief and triumph. Now, I am ready to allow my victories to step onto the stage as well.

I am incredibly proud to have been recognized as one of the recipients of the CEO Today Executive Coaching Awards 2024 – LIFE AND BUSINESS COACH OF THE YEAR.
🔗 Read more here

This recognition is a powerful affirmation that the work I do matters and that I should continue down this path—listening to my heart. ❤️

I also celebrate having achieved my PCC certification, the second level of accreditation from the world’s largest coaching organization, the International Coaching Federation (ICF). The support of my family, friends, and colleagues was invaluable throughout this journey, which I embarked on with relatively short notice—though the preparation itself spanned more than a year.
