{"id":245,"date":"2026-01-07T17:52:57","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T15:52:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.icf-coaching.org\/sabinagavriloaiei\/2026\/01\/07\/why-does-belonging-to-a-professional-coaching-organization-matter\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T17:54:30","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T15:54:30","slug":"why-does-belonging-to-a-professional-coaching-organization-matter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.icf-coaching.org\/sabinagavriloaiei\/2026\/01\/07\/why-does-belonging-to-a-professional-coaching-organization-matter\/","title":{"rendered":"Why does belonging to a professional coaching organization matter?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';color: #000000\">I joined <b>ICF Romania (<a href=\"https:\/\/coachingfederation.ro\/conferinta\/\">International Coaching Federation<\/a>)<\/b> as a volunteer in the summer of last year, about six months after completing my training courses.<br \/>\nIn the first part of the year, I told myself I could manage on my own on this path, but somehow things didn\u2019t quite come together.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';color: #000000\">I already had experience with professional associations, as I had also been a member for a while of the <b>Organizational Psychology Association<\/b> when I was a student.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';color: #000000\">This time, I chose <b>ICF<\/b>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\" style=\"color: #000000;font-size: medium\">\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue'\">because I needed to surround myself with specialists who have the same training as I do \u2014 people who truly understand what I do, from whom I can <i>learn the craft<\/i> and understand <i>best practices<\/i>. This is how I function best \u2014 in \u201ctribes\u201d;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue'\">because of the practice and training programs that help me become a solid professional in the market. I have always been oriented toward learning a lot, but in order to be a coach who works \u201ccleanly,\u201d I need to develop a true coaching mindset. This can only be built through a lot of practice. I started with myself;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue'\">because I want to obtain my <b>ACC certification<\/b> (the first level in professional coaching), and ICF keeps me aligned with international standards of competence and quality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';color: #000000\">Coaching is not just about meaningful conversations; it is about ethics, responsibility, and continuous development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';color: #000000\">That is why, before working with a coach (or, in general, with any specialist), it is useful to ask:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\" style=\"color: #000000;font-size: medium\">\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue'\">What kind of training do they have?<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue'\">What competencies do they use in practice?<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue'\">What does a typical coaching process look like for them?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';color: #000000\">Not to judge someone \u2014 but to protect your goals, your time, and your investment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';color: #000000\">\ud83d\udca1 A responsibly conducted coaching process can transform lives.<br \/>\n\ud83d\udca1 A title used without proper preparation can create confusion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-size: 13px;line-height: normal;font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';color: #000000\">#coaching #coachsabinagavriloaiei #personaldevelopment #professionaldevelopment #ICF #ICFRomania #ACC<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I joined ICF Romania (International Coaching Federation) as a volunteer in the summer of last year, about six months after completing my training courses.
