I walked In as a Patient; I walked Out as a Coach

I went to the doctor expecting a typical, clinical visit. I expected a quick, efficient, consultation. I was there for answers; the doctor was there to provide them.
But the moment the doctor found out I’m a coach, the energy in the room shifted.
Suddenly, the roles reversed. the doctor began opening up, reflecting on own life, and asking the kind of questions you won’t find in a medical textbook. Without even thinking about it,
I stepped into my expertise; listening deeply and holding space for the doctor. What usually takes a 15-minute checkup, had turned into a 45-minute coaching session.
The most surprising part wasn’t the time we spent, but the realization I had afterward. I walked into that office as a patient, but I walked out as a coach.
It was a powerful reminder that coaching isn’t just a title or a certificate on a wall; it’s a presence.
People don’t always need to see your credentials to trust you; they can feel the clarity and safety you bring to a conversation.
Today, the doctor’s no longer just my doctor. My coachee. It just goes to show: sometimes the universe puts you in a room not to get what you thought you needed,
but to give what you were meant to share. BTW, I was the last patient & the doctor gave me a good advice about my medical condition.
