Situational Leadership Course Facilitator

What Is the Situational Leadership Model?

The Situational Leadership Model suggests that no single leadership style is better than another. Instead of focusing on workplace factors, the model suggests that leaders should adjust their techniques to their employees’ abilities. The model developed by Ken Blanchard and Paul Hershey suggests four leadership styles—Directing/Telling, Coaching/Selling, Supporting/Participating, and Delegating—that leaders should switch between, depending on whether the employee needs high or low directive and supportive behavior, based on the task at hand.

Under this model, successful leadership is related to both tasks and relationships. It is an adaptive, flexible style in which leaders are encouraged to consider their followers—individuals or a team—and then consider the factors that impact the work environment before choosing how they will lead. This gives them a better chance of meeting their goals.

As an experienced instructor off this model, teaching over 50 courses on the material, I am qualified to come to your organization and teach your team about this concept.
