Dr. Barbara Huffman de Belón
Dr. Belón received her doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University in 1985, specializing in teaching methodologies and curriculum development. While there, she developed an interest in programming and redirected her career to the software industry.
Fast forward through working years: Barbara started her coaching journey via training provided through the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). She is a certified Level 2 ELCA Coach, specializing in Discipleship. Dr. Belón received her Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential from the International Coaching Federation in August, 2022.
During the past five years, Barbara’s coaching assignments included working with ELCA grant recipients, first-call and ordained clergy, business professionals, and college faculty teams. She was also selected as a WBECS/Coaching.com Facilitator for years 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26. As a result of her coaching training and experience, Barbara authored a seminar entitled “Coaching for Everyday Life” which offers concentrated training on listening skills and powerful question creation that can be used in every level of conversation.
