My coaching journey

I discovered the power of coaching over 20 years ago. I had been promoted to a Leadership role and had no real idea of how to lead people effectively. I read a lot of books about Leadership and took some courses, but the concepts and leadership approaches at the time didn’t feel like the right approach for me. I thought there had to be a better way than leading from behind a desk in an office far away from the people I was leading using a command and control style.

Enter coaching!

I took my first 3 day coaching course and immediately connected with the concepts, application and power of coaching. Not long after, I took another 3 month coaching course and was immediately able to apply the concepts I learned at work. This change in my leadership approach enabled my teams to be successful and to fully develop their strengths in an environment of trust and respect.

Continuing my journey, I signed up for a year-long intensive training course with the Adler Graduate Professional School in Toronto to become an ICF certified coach. I immersed myself in all things coaching and I knew that it was what I would do for the rest of my career.

Since completing my certification, I have developed internal company coaching programs and coached hundreds of people and teams in many areas of business and personal development. I work with professionals at top companies to help improve their leadership skills, mental wellness, resilience and fulfillment at work. I also work with people outside of their work to help them maximize their enjoyment of their life and help them achieve the changes they want to make.

I have seen people transform their careers and lives because they were brave enough to show up to coaching sessions and do the personal work; challenging their assumptions, beliefs and thoughts. It’s not easy work, but it is always transformative and I am privileged to be part of the journey for those who are looking to make positive changes in their lives.

How I help my clients,

“Jane is an exceptional life and career coach. I met with Jane several times to discuss my career path, how to navigate a few professional dilemmas, and how to overcome symptoms of imposter syndrome. Jane is a compassionate and empathetic coach; she took the time to genuinely listen and help draw out an actionable plan for me to achieve my goals. But more than that, Jane also helped me understand how to build confidence and to believe in my abilities. I continue to use the teachings I learned from Jane on a daily basis. I would highly recommend Jane to any professional looking to take their career to the next level.”  K.B Legal Councel
