What is Life Coaching?
‘Coaching is about exploring and expanding our choices by developing awareness and resourcefulness, and having new experiences.’ – From the Barefoot Coach Training Programme.
I help people climb their very own mountains. Metaphorically speaking.
Life is like a beautiful mountain range of changes, transitions, and decisions to make. The views from the snow-covered peaks surrounded by clear blue sky are wonderfully breathtaking – and really all we ever live for. Sometimes climbing is easy, you are motivated, the goal is clear, and the weather is on your side. And sometimes it is more difficult. Maybe the weather is bad, you are tired, and it is hard to see the next step. Or you feel like you are confined to Base Camp because the ascend was too fast. Sometimes the struggle is more about what peak to climb next…?
On the mountain you take a guide. In life you take a coach.
You can bring any topic, issue or problem to the coaching table – keeping in mind that coaching is not therapy. Coaching is about identifying a challenge you would like to overcome, or setting a goal for yourself, and through our coaching conversations you will be able to untangle the topic and embark on a journey of self-discovery. The aim of this journey is to evoke the self-awareness you need to make the changes you want or take the action that will help you reach your goal.
On our journey we might explore such topics as your values, limiting beliefs and drivers, meaning our reasons and motives for doing and thinking, hidden fears and forgotten desires, as well as any other blind spots that contribute to holding you back. These new insights will expand your choices, and with your challenge or goal in mind, give you the opportunity to change behaviour and pick up the tools you need to take action. To support our coaching conversation, we can make use of range of different coaching tools, such as questions, coaching cards, objects and even creative tools and movement.
We might also explore what you need to feel empowered, how you can put that into practice, and how you can sustain the momentum gained through coaching. For this we can use also use creative and more somatic tools to generate new experiences – and new thinking. And lastly, I will support you in defining your own measures of success to make sure that you reach your goal or know it, when you have achieved what you wanted to.
In other words: It is all about finding the solutions to your challenges within yourself, using me as a guide to accompany you on your way up the mountain. I don’t have the answers… You do!
Psst…!!!
If you just read all this and think ‘I don’t know what my goal should be, I just feel kind of stuck or bored.’, that is ok too.
Here is my first, free of charge challenge for you: What are your top 5 priorities in life?
Take a deep breath. Sit with it a little…
And now answer honestly: What 5 areas of your life do you spend most energy on?
If the answers to these 2 questions don’t match, maybe we should have that Discovery Call after all? It might surprise you, how much power you have to change that.

Learning to be less hard on myself and enjoying my path
“A friend of mine introduced me to Tina, as she knew I was in search of new directions in my career, without knowing from where to start. I was expecting some really down to earth outcome, such as a workplan for the next six months. But I found out much more than that, Tina really helped me shaping a more precise vision for my future life, on a professional level and beyond. Thank you so much Tina!” — Nancy Y.
Reconsidering work and finding self-confidence
“I got in touch with Tina before starting a new job, as I had fears how it would go because I made certain unpleasant experiences in my previous job.
We booked in 4 sessions, and I have to say that already after the first session my anxieties were gone! Tina helped me to find answers within myself, and it totally undid the ‘knot’ I was feeling in my stomach when I was thinking about future working life.
We then still had time to go over different issues, also from my personal life and how personal and professional interconnect and act, in the other 3 sessions.
I’m very grateful and I don’t think I would enjoy the working life as much as I’m doing now without Tina’s help. I’ve taken a giant’s steps in my own personal development thanks to her. Everybody should do this – it really helps.” — Margarete Van Rossum
Managing work overload
I decided to explore coaching with Tina when I felt like I needed guidance and strategies to manage the constant work overload that was becoming a significant challenge for me.
Initially, I expected to gain practical tools to better manage my workload and improve my time management skills. Throughout our sessions, Tina’s insightful questions and guidance helped me uncover deeper insights into my own mindset and habits. The most enlightening revelation about myself was understanding the patterns of behavior that contributed to my work overload. Through Tina’s coaching, I learned to identify and challenge these patterns.
The biggest takeaway from our sessions was the realization that effective time management goes beyond mere productivity tips; it involves an understanding of one’s values, priorities, and boundaries. Tina’s sessions helped me to deeper understand myself.
As a result, my behavior and approach towards tasks underwent a transformation, and I was offered a career promotion.
I am grateful to Tina for her genuine interest, and the real impact our coaching sessions had on my professional life. I wholeheartedly recommend Tina to anyone looking to navigate career challenges or indeed addressing other professional or personal issues. — Maryia Sulik
