Understanding work preferences is a critical component in developing individual, team and organisational performance. Team Management Systems’ Team Management Profile (“TMP”) Questionnaire is a 60-item assessment focused on enhancing understanding of an individual’s approach to work which provides constructive, work-based information outlining an individual’s work preference based on the Team Management Wheel. It takes only 10 minutes to complete.

The benefits of understanding a team member’s work profile include – amongst others:

  • Being able to identify a person’s strengths and work preferences;
  • Developing greater self-awareness and strategies to improve performance;
  • Helping people understand why they work the way they do;
  • Providing a common language for teams to communicate with;
  • Enabling leaders to successfully and confidently assign people to projects and tasks; and
  • Delivering objective, constructive and work-focused insights.

The TMP relates to work preferences, which are dynamic and situational and can change over time. Employees tend to be more open to sharing their profiles with each other because –

  • it does not measure personality, skills, competence or performance;
  • the 8 types of work do not always occur sequentially;
  • different teams spend different amounts of time in each type of work; and
  • there is no right or wrong.
