What is coaching?
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential”
Coaching does not try to explain or process past events like in therapy or counselling, but is future-oriented.
Coaching is not mentoring either. A coach’s role is not to resolve your problems, but to challenge and guide you to consider and try out other options, be your accountability partner and facilitate growth by anchoring new learnings for you and thus enable sustainable transformations. A coach will not share their experience and advice, as a mentor would.
What results can I expect from coaching?
Clients often gain greater clarity, confidence, focus, and momentum. Coaching helps you move from knowing what you should do to actually taking meaningful action.
How can coaching help me in my career?
Coaching can help you strengthen your leadership presence, navigate career transitions, improve your executive presence, communicate more effectively, and make decisions with greater confidence.
What if I’m feeling stuck?
Feeling stuck is often the perfect reason to start coaching. Together, we’ll identify what’s holding you back, uncover new perspectives, and create practical steps to help you move forward.
How quickly will I see results?
Many clients experience new insights after the first session. Sustainable results develop over time through reflection, experimentation, and consistent action.
What do I need to be successful in coaching?
A willingness to be curious, honest with yourself, and open to being challenged to try new approaches. You bring the commitment; I provide the structure, support, and accountability.
Are coaching conversations confidential?
Trust and psychological safety are essential to effective coaching. Everything discussed during our sessions remains confidential, except in situations where disclosure is required by law or professional ethical standards. If your coaching is paid by your employer, an agreement is made upfront where every party- coachee, employer and coach- agrees in full transparency what information will be shared with the employer.
How do I know if we’re a good fit?
The best way to find out is through a discovery conversation. We’ll explore your goals, discuss what you’re looking for, and determine whether I can help you achieve the outcomes that matter most to you.
What’s the first step?
Schedule a discovery call. We’ll discuss where you are today, where you’d like to be, and how coaching can help you bridge that gap.
