The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as
“partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential”
Coaching Principles
My work is based on the principle that the client is naturally creative, resourceful, and whole.
They already possess the capacity to find their own answers, make decisions, and grow. Therefore, my role is not to advise, fix, or solve problems for the client, but to partner with them to access their own insights and potential.
No matter how much a client may share, they are the expert in their own life and work.
People are capable of change and growth and have more strengths and resources than they often realize.
Sustainable change comes from the client’s own commitment and ownership, which is why we have a relationship as equal partners.
We identify 4 types of professional coaching: business, career, life vision and enhancement, and health and wellness coaching.
I specialize in leadership, career, performance and organizational coaching,
targeting women in the workplace who want to climb the career ladder with more purpose, clarity and balance
as well as working with all leaders to increase awareness of diversity and strengthen inclusivity in their style, enabling them to bring out the best version of all their team members.
What coaching is not
Coaching is different from therapy or counselling in the way that coaching does not try to explain or process past events, but is future-oriented.
Coaching is not mentoring either. A coach’s role is not to resolve your problems, but to challenge and guide you to consider and try out other options, be your accountability partner and facilitate growth by anchoring new learnings for you and thus enable sustainable transformations.
With your permission, a coach may offer observation, however is not there to share their experience and advice, as a mentor would.
